A new year, another unwritten paper which by the end of the year will be filled with my own thoughts and experiences around the techno parties in Copenhagen - or wherever else I find a party to attend on our globe.

I have asked myself so many times whether I should go on partying forever and ever, and so far the only answer I've come up with is the one telling me that as long as I have I good time, why the f**k not ? Although, to be totally honest I have to say that it is somewhat starting to get to me, all this partying. No, by the way, let me rephrase that - it's not so much the partying but the party attenders.

A long long time ago I started (along with everybody else who have been in the scene for quite some years) to complain about how younger and younger people are coming to the parties. Nothing wrong in that, but all of them don't really know their own limitations and I felt an urge to give my input on the situation.

It's not cool to be too far out or too wasted. No no no. It's not cool to do drugs because everybody else does. It's not cool to take drugs at all, but some people do have a head on their shoulders and know very well how to deal with the chemical and how to stay in control of it. Unless you know what amounts of drugs and which drugs to take to make you feel good / to keep you in control and to reach the stage where the drug is doing exactly what it should ( e n h a n c e ) - stay away from them.

I for one can not tell when someone is on drugs, but I can definitely tell when someone has taken too much ... sigh ... it's not an appealing image.

As for the party, it was a very good one ! When we arrived (after quite a few glasses of red whine @ Sofie's together with Sofie and Jacob), Emok was playing and although I never got him to play my favvo tune at the moment (Tim Schuldt's Ohm Shiva), he did great. Excellento, Michael !

Synchro delivered a liveset (amazingly enough, as none of the equipment was in the venue when he arrived) which had us all stomping and shaking our butts to the max. I recognized (a remixed) Science Friction and Sync Or Swim from his latest album Science Friction but the rest was all new. And gosh, do we look forward to that release !

Troy was a cute little guy with beautiful eyes (very relevant info, right?!) and he possessed skills in the mixing area as well. Not to mention the tracks he put on ... the place was rocking.

During his set we took off to another place called B&W to continue partying together with Jeroen (and show him what Danish parties are *really* about, hehe) and out there we also had a blast. Later in the morning the guys from the Ballroom showed up and had a go at the turntables. Before they did, Carsten, Llopis and Sommer played some very nice stuff. More of that butt shaking.

The finishing set by Troy was simply awesome and although my legs really begged for a break by now, I couldn't stand still. Thanks to Ask (sp?) for the party, and to all the dj:s and other guys involved in organizing a night of swirling tunes and kind thoughts.

A big special hug goes to Christel (sp?) from Netherlands (what a lovely name !).
