What a beautiful party we attended on Midsummer! Not only were we in luck with the weather, everything else was sheer success and from now on I'll compare all Midsummer parties to this one - even though it won't be particularly fair. I came to the party in company with my friends George and Javve (in a super luxurious Volvo S70, I might add!) and arriving around 8pm, we were among the last ones to arrive. The sun was shining, it was warm and hot, the mosquitos barely half-awake but working on it and gathered for this event was a fantastic crowd of people. They say Sweden is fantastic, and the nature and surroundings welcoming us was no less than breathtaking. I doubt we could have found ourselves a more beautiful spot to celebrate Midsummer at. Huge thanks to Johanna for sharing this paradise with us. Relaxing, walking around talking to all the funfilled ppl, drinking wine and covering ourselves in "Mygga" (a roll-on designed to keep mosquitos away) we had a great start on this the brightest day&night of the year. No clue whatsoever as to what time it was, we soon found ourselves down on the dance floor dancing madly to the great tunes that Astral and Peffe presented to us. Prior to that, we'd been exploring the surroundings and admired the great job accomplished with decorations in the deep woods. Everywhere we looked, we saw small figurines. Well, not exactly _everywhere_...but at least in places where we absolutely didn't expect to find anything else but things placed there by Mother Nature! Up in the trees, on the stones, down on the moss-covered ground, on the branches... Imagine us on a figurine hunt, succeeding and screaming and cheering about it - we had a blast! =:) Astral & Peffe played an outstanding set with minimalistic tunes spinning into trance now and then and as soon as David had arrived, he played a rather short set that was followed by yet another brilliant set by Emok. All sets this night were *great* but the best set - no discussion - was the one we were given by Emok & David in the morning. WOW! I still can't believe that it was as good as I remember it, but it must have been because I was not the only one going crazy. =:) The dance floor was totally packed up until 1pm so you can judge for yourself...! It was totally depressing getting on the bus at 2pm, and even more depressing arriving back in Malmö at 4.30pm. Stepping off, this Midsummer had come to an end. I just wish that we could turn back time and go back next week! I give one big hug to everybody who were there - you all made this one of the most beautiful nights I've experienced and for that, I cherish you! Soap bubbles & Smiles * Chrissie * |
