Pakhus is a mekka for goa-lovers. Flying Rhino was the label to get extra attention last night. And man, attention they got!!! We arrived around 23.30. It was kind of empty in there then, both on the dance floor and in the big entrance hall. The music was OK, but lacked that little extra something. I haven't got a clue who played, or if the dj:s changed after about half an hour, but all of a sudden the music drastically transformed into something that sounded very good. Slowly, the dance floor and the party was filled with people. Soon it became just as hot and steamy as it always is, but no one seemed to care. All that mattered was the dancing. People danced like it was the last party they'd attend. When Technossomy came on, we were served a gig I won't forget about in a long time. It was so damn good! The two guys stood up there jumping, stomping, smiling, sweating and looking as if they had the time of their life. There was nothing else to do but to let yourself go and get swept away by the vibe. We gave our outmost to give them some feedback. Every individual on the dance floor almost burst with joy (at least it looked like it!) and the atmosphere could hardly get better than it was at that point. Tristan's gig was rather disappointing. I'd expected that it would be the highlight of the evening, but to me it was too fast for too long. People looked as if they enjoyed it to the full, so I guess I was a bit full-up after Technossomy then. (note written at the end of 1997: in Portugal, Tristan's gig the last morning was outstanding and what made the day for me, so I know that he can do outstanding sets) The morning music is my weak point and what really makes me tick. When Emok played as the last man out on the turntables, he picked me right back up. Some people have complained afterwards that his mixing was no good but I've said this before and I'll say it again: the MUSIC is what really matters to me, not the mixing. Ok if the mixing is so bad that you get out of step, but unless that happens, I can't complain. Emok woke us all up again and as we knew that the party would soon be over, we just didn't cool down. I liked this party lots. Groovy and nice people. Pretty good lights compared to the last few parties in Pakhus. A cosy chill out. Neat decos. Most of all - a really uplifting and captivating vibe! Big hugs to Mesmer, Sussi and DJ Ego - good fun to see some SRN:ers. Of course, the hugs go out to everybody else in the party as well! Do we long for the next party or do we long for the next party? miles of smiles ~ chrissie ~ |
