First off, a little review that Andy sent me:

OK! My newly found friend Chrissie gave me the liberty to write down a review of the Utopia II party which I thank her for.

A note: Before I went to this party I hadn't been to one for two months so I was pretty x-static even a week before.

Anyway, me (Andy), my brother Stoffe, Anna, Andrea, Johanna, Tom, Diana, Lina and some other friends, and of course the owner of this site (Chrissie), took the boat over to Copenhagen at eight o'clock. This was the first time ever I met Chrissie. She had some Absolut Kurant mixed with some soda or something that she kindly offered, and I gladly accepted. Chrissie turned out to be a nice girl ;-).

[ Chrissie's note: No Andy, it wasn't soda - it was liquid acid! =:) ]

As we reached the harbor my pulse started to increase, and although we had like 1 hour and 15 minutes until the party started, my body felt it coming. We took a taxi to Cph:s central station because I had a big bag with me that I needed to lock up.

When we arrived to Øksnehallen the time was 21.15, and it didn't open up until 22.00 so we stood outside freezing our butts off for approximately 45 minutes, which was long enough! I had nice company though, and guess who showed up: Mr Suzuki, and the both halves of Astral Projection, Lior Perlmutter and Avi Nissim! It was a pleasure I can tell! I gladly shook their hands and felt very comfortable afterwards.

After the body search, I finally got in. It was very big and I could see that they had spent some hours preparing the place. It took about 5 minutes, then I was set on the dancefloor - as usual.

Some hours went by and then Tsuyoshi was ready to do his set. The entire set was good and different, kind of cool in a way. At times I even thought it was funky. This is the first time I've heard Tsuyoshi play and I think he kicked (my) butt! It was a lot different from his project Prana that I have listened to much and I like a lot, but somehow Tsuyoshi himself gets to me better.

When Astral Projection took the set, people got crazy and ... maybe I did too! Somehow these guys have something special. What I mean is that you almost know every tune of theirs forwards and backwards, so it becomes so fu.. great when you hear them at a party with huge soundsystems! Dancing Galaxy - oh my God! Can it get better then this? -Yes it can! When "People can fly" ate itself out of the speakers I just stood there for a second before my feet went berserk. "I did some crazy moves over there". Anyway, I loved their whole set and I hope that they keep up the good work.

Then Man With No Name, what a guy! This man is my favorite. He has, in every single song, a sound or noise thats just eats me up. I think you people who read this know what I am talking about, if not, you just have to trust me. When he went on I was in the best mood of the whole night :-). Every single beat hit me like a truck, and damn! when Sugar Rush came into my ears, my feet were in a lot of pain I can tell. His whole set was the best and somewhere inside me I wished that this party was a neverending story. He played everything you could dream of that could make your day. Molto bene!

Sad but true, the party was more or less over. I prepared myself for my flight back to Italy, where I study, and considered this party worth every penny (or SEK).

This was some of my experiences from the party, if you have something to share mail me at andypol@hotmail.com.

Thanx for this Chrissie, I enjoyed it!

Love ya

Andy

Thank YOU, Andy! Half of the party experience is based upon peeps around you and the company, I couldn't have wished for better! Now, my little piece on the party...

As Andy pretty much went to details about our trip over to Copenhagen I'll go straight to the fun parts - the music and the actual party.

Øksnehallen is normally a venue for art exhibitions and such, and it was big. I was a little bit disappointed about the lack of decorations, the only thing I was really impressed by must have been the mini pool with the fontaine.

I also stared up a lot when the trapeze artists performed, and turned around more than once to peek at the fairies that walked around...

Having seen Suzuki play twice before (at a small party in Malmö some years ago and also at the Matsuri Productions Label Night party) I knew more or less what to expect but he was way better this time around and I can only agree with Andy's appreciation. Great set, Tsuyoshi, and thanx for posing for me!

The music was basically excellento all night long but major highlights were of course Mr Martin Freeland (Man With No Name) and the very talented guys in Astral Projection. It was *such* a trip down memory lane, and ppl went nuts when all these oldies but goodies were played, one by one. I distinctly remember having goosepimples all over when Astral Projection played In-Novation - it was a moment I want to remember always.

The music that both MWNN and Astral Projection played were tunes that I got into the trance scene listening to, damn nostalgia!, so this was an experience far beyond the regular party experience to me... *bliss*

There was one track that I missed though: Sly-Ed by MWNN. It was my first trancetrack-love and you tend to never forget them! I heard the expression "this was the first single I ever bought with trance" being spoken more than once during the night, kind of cool wouldn't you say! =:)

Yes, it was indeed a night for the classics. I met many ppl that I haven't seen in a long time but who used to go to parties way back when. There were lots of the candies (see my Earthdance review) but fortunately the place was big enough to stay clear of them.

Orion did a good set, no surprise really, and cute Mino handled the drums as good as ever. *sigh, those eyes of his are really something....* =:)

Out of the dj:s there was only one to be nominated for "best one of the night" - Mr Jean Borelli. It was *awesome* and perfectly timed. Groovy, stompy and catchy tunes that just left you no option but to dance. It was a major disappointment when this great guy had to step down and the party had come to an end.

Thanks to the friendly guards and the very friendly staff in the bars.

Memorable moments: I got tag number 0001 in the wardrobe - it has never during my 6 party-years happened before and I doubt it will again.

Miles Of *MEGA* Smiles
